Australians say NO to Child Sex Tourism
Tell Qantas that Australians say NO to Child Sex Tourism by signing the below petition.

Petition

To Alan Joyce of Qantas Airlines:
In signing this petition Australians call on you to say NO to Child Sex Tourism. We call on you to immediately implement and enforce The Code of Conduct for the protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism. We ask that Qantas train its staff in how to detect and report trafficking victims, child sex tourists and travelling sex offenders, educate its customers about child sex tourism and child sex trafficking, and work with suppliers and partners to end the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism.”

Right now children around the world are being coaxed, lured, kidnapped, sold, drugged, beaten and forced into having sex with multiple men a day. Every day, hundreds of children around the world are forced into sexual exploitation fueled by the demand of foreign sex tourists, Australians included. The equivalent of 1 in 4 Australian children, or 1.2 million, are trafficked globally each year mostly into prostitution.

The global Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children From Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism compels airlines to train their staff and educate their customers to deter and detect child sexual exploitation. Travel and Tourism operators worldwide are joining in the fight to protect children. Nearly 1000 companies worldwide are members- None of which are Australian.

And yet, of the 250,000 sex tourists that visit Asia each year, 1 in 7 are Australian.

Qantas is Australia’s largest airline business and a world leader in the aviation industry. Qantas has 37,000 employees, and Qantas and Jetstar operate more than 910 international flights each week. Qantas has the opportunity to lead the fight against the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. Let’s build global pressure on Qantas to become accountable and help protect the victims of this vile practice. Let’s reach 120, 000 signatures, which represents just 10% of children who are trafficked each year. Let’s give those children a voice.
